This is how Brian describes his works..."In my work as an artist, most of the time I don't have the faintest idea what's going to happen. I sit down and feel the world around me. I become enchanted, in the best sense of the word - I am filled with delight. I listen to the voices in my heart. I draw a line. I draw another line. I remember...I draw more lines. I remember more things. I keep putting down lines. Every line is a whisper of memory, of my life at the moment.
People ask me how I come up with the stuff I do. I tell them it's all right there when I listen.
It is a powerful act of love to simply listen well, fully."

Sculptures
The sculptures range from 2-4 feet tall. They are made from recycled barn wood, primarily pine, fir, and recycled barn tin, steel from old homesteads in Northeast Iowa. Each piece is cut and assembled individually, paying close attention to the unique qualities of the wood used. The piece is then painted, the story is stamped one letter at a time by hand, the final metal is added. The face is then blended on numbered at the studio. All stories are available as sculptures.

Prints
The prints are xerographic reproductions of original watercolor on 65 lb. acid-free & archival stock. Colors are super-saturated for increased brilliance. They are sold with the double mat board (outer mat color-Umber, inner mat color raven-black). Outer dimensions of the mat are 11X14. The double mat, print & backing board are protected with a polyethylene sleeve. This sleeve is easily removed, recycled, reused and/or replaced. Over 300 of the stories are available as prints.
